SZA Spotted in First Custom VanSZA Sneaker, Designed by Rachel Goatley

Last week, singer SZA, known for tracks such as Kill Bill and Good Days, was spotted wearing custom Vans sneakers designed by New York–based jewelry designer Rachel Goatley. The pair in question was the Ladybug Garden, a Vans Authentic with an artistic twist.

In addition to the pair she wore during the Louis Vuitton show, Goatley designed four additional one-of-one Vans sneakers for SZA to wear throughout Paris Fashion Week.

SZA and Vans

Choosing Vans for a Louis Vuitton runway, arguably the highlight of Paris Fashion Week, is a bold move, but it makes sense when you know that SZA currently serves as Artistic Director at Vans.

For the show, SZA wore the Ladybug Garden, featuring handcrafted sterling silver lace locks with gold plating, set with gemstones including citrine, sapphire, emerald, and peridot. The sneaker was designed exclusively for SZA and will not be released.

The other four sneakers, also designed by Goatley and spread across the Authentic and Old Skool 36 silhouettes, are named 'Enchanted Forest', 'Radiance', 'Camo/Earth', and 'Temperature Ctrl'. Each pair is finished with a variety of gemstones.

Rachel Goatley, a self-taught designer and Creative Partner at Greg Yuna New York, is known for her heirloom-quality jewelry. In this collaboration, she translates her signature style to footwear, merging jewelry and sneakers into one.

No Release

This is not an official collaboration that we can expect to see released anytime soon. However, it did appear that SZA was spotted in what looked like a potential collaboration, dressed in a fish-patterned outfit.
