Sean Wotherspoon is the man behind many creative sneaker looks. He has repeatedly shown us that he understands sneakers and he does so again with the second colourway of the adidas Superstar SUPEREARTH.
Sneakers out of love for the earth
With his adidas partnership, Wotherspoon hasn't missed a beat. The SUPEREARTH Superstar was initially set to launch exclusively in China, but the black colorway is now set to be released worldwide. The SUPEREARTH Superstar combines Wotherspoon's love of vintage clothing with his vegan mission. Wotherspoon thinks about the world with his design. The co-owner of vintage and sneaker shop Round Two therefore uses animal-free materials, which consist of off-white, green and light blue shades.
The sneaker has a very youthful vibe. Both in colour and bold embroidery. The upper is black with multicoloured floral embroidery. This embroidery on the profiles has a very pronounced look. Each flower has long, uncut strings that hang down to the ground. The biggest change from Wotherspoon's first Superstar are the black sides.
The tongues are finished in black and have replaced the standard Superstar construction with a thinner one. A graphic of the Earth is printed on each tongue and the name of the design is printed on the lip. This playful "SUPEREARTH" logo and on the laces creates a whole new look for the iconic adidas Originals. Finally, the sneaker has a cork insole with Wotherspoon's signature. This completes the look.
