Swiss sports brand On Running has had a strong start to the year. In the first quarter, the brand achieved record revenue of 726.6 million Swiss francs — an increase of 43% compared to Q1 2024. According to the brand, this growth is due to strong direct—to—consumer sales performance. Although I think Zendaya may have helped a bit too.
In the report shared earlier this week, On announced that it has seen major success worldwide in recent months. Revenue rose by 33.6% in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, by 32.7% in the Americas, and by an impressive 130.1% in the Asia-Pacific region.
Two silhouettes that On says contributed to this success are the recently launched Cloudsurfer 2 and Cloud 6. On also released a new collaboration with Loewe centered around the Cloudventure Loewe 2, which was well received. The sci-fi campaign featuring ambassador Zendaya, focused on the Cloudzone, also drew a lot of attention (and rightfully so).
Not only did shoes perform well (+40.5%), but apparel and accessories also saw strong growth. Apparel sales rose by 93.1%, and accessories by 99.2%.
The news caused On’s stock to rise by 8%. In short: a strong start to a promising year.
The Swiss brand On achieved a record revenue of 726.6 million Swiss francs, an increase of 43% compared to Q1 2024.
The growth was mainly driven by direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales, strong demand from retail partners, and successful product launches such as the Cloudsurfer 2 and Cloud 6.
