Nike has just announced that its global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, will henceforth be called the Philip H. Knight Campus (PHK), in honor of co-founder Phil Knight. According to Nike, this name change is more than a symbolic gesture, intended to reflect Knight’s vision and entrepreneurial spirit.
Nike CEO Elliott Hill wrote in a message to employees that the new name “is a tribute to the man whose vision set a global movement in motion.” According to Hill, Knight, who co-founded Nike (then Blue Ribbon Sports) with Bill Bowerman in 1964, is an inspiration to everyone working on the campus.
The Beaverton campus originally opened in 1990 and served as a place where employees not only worked but also came together. The first buildings on the campus were named after top athletes such as Michael Jordan and Steve Prefontaine.

Recent additions include the LeBron James Innovation Center (2021) and the impressive Serena Williams Building (2022), Nike’s largest design and creativity center.
The campus currently spans more than 40 buildings across 400 acres. In addition to the Beaverton location, Nike also has headquarters in Hilversum, Shanghai, and Boston. The official celebration of the Philip H. Knight Campus (PHK) is scheduled for spring 2026.
