The Nike Air Max 90 made its debut in 1990 and is still regarded today as one of Tinker Hatfield’s most recognizable designs. The model grew into a staple within the Air Max line and has remained popular thanks to the many re-releases over the years.
In 2026, Nike is bringing the classic back once again as the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’, this time featuring reflective 3M details. The brand stays close to the original design, with only subtle changes in the choice of materials.

Nike Air Max 90 'Infrared' 3M in detail
After around 36 years, the Nike Air Max 90 returns in its original ‘Infrared’ colorway, not for the first time, but this time with special details. The sneaker retains the iconic Infrared color that has defined the model’s look for decades. This color appears on elements such as the eyestays, branding, and details around the sole.
New to this version are the 3M elements on the upper. The reflective material is most visible under direct light, but does not alter the sneaker’s appearance in normal lighting conditions. The upper is constructed from a combination of mesh and leather, as seen on previous Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ releases.
The white midsole and visible Max Air unit under the heel are paired with black and ‘Infrared’ accents on the outsole.
Release
According to current information, the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ is expected to release in spring 2026. An exact release date has not yet been announced. As soon as more details become available, we will share them via our socials and, of course, in our release calendar.
