Rumour has it that the Air Jordan 1 Low OG is getting a ‘Banned’ colorway in 2026. If there is one colorway that defines the very essence of sneaker culture, it might just be the ‘Banned’ aesthetic: Black and Red, the infamous 'Bred' duo that started a revolution on and off the court.
While we’ve seen countless iterations over the years and even decades, Jordan Brand is now taking us back to the roots in 2026 with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Banned’.

We guess you all know the story, but just for the record: in 1984 the NBA reportedly fined Michael Jordan $5,000 every time he wore his black and red sneakers, claiming they violated the ‘uniformity of uniform’ rule. Nike leaned into the controversy with their marketing strategy, and the rest is history.
This upcoming Low OG version isn’t just any retro. We’re looking at a premium leather construction featuring the classic Black and Varsity Red colour blocking. Special details include the “Imagine... and If...” text on the tongue and the 10.18.84 printed on the inside of the sneaker. Furthermore, we see a big X on the back of the sneaker, where the Wings logo is normally placed.

The colorway features the signature red toe box, swoosh, and heel overlays, contrasted against deep black leather panels and a clean white midsole. A look that remains as sharp today as it did forty years ago.
