The Amine New Balance 992 arrives on October 2 and goes by the name Outdoor School. Brown suede underlays and overlays, with deep red patent leather panels in between. Made in USA once again, and the first time Amine does that together with New Balance. In the US the retail price is 220 dollars.

The build of the Amine New Balance 992 is full of details. A blue stripe runs through the traction under the sole, and the midfoot carries plates in blue-gold and red-green. The Outdoor School theme returns everywhere: each pair comes with a wooden hangtag, a charm set and a box designed like a fishing kit. Not a standard release, but a package built entirely around the theme.

For Amine, who as a musician is known for his eye for colour, that approach makes sense. The 992 remains the familiar silhouette of American make, with a sturdy, robust build.
Storytelling above all
With this 992, New Balance leans heavily on the story around it, not just on the sneaker itself. The packaging and the extras turn the drop into a small whole.
After the New Balance 2000 Abzorb, for example, the collaborations seem to sit far apart, yet with the right storytelling they still manage to turn it into a big story. With this Made in USA 2000 that looks set to work again.
A confirmed European retail price is not out yet. As soon as it is known, we will add it. Keep in mind that the Made in USA line from New Balance usually sits at the upper end of the price range.
