The adidas Madrid 'Auburn' is the next OG model to join adidas' City Series. In the 1970s, adidas started this series and chose 24 major European cities for inspiration. In recent years, adidas has been bringing back more and more OG releases. This time, they chose to take the design of the Spanish capital from the archives.
adidas Madrid 'Auburn': The Design
The Madrid-inspired shoe has remained close to the original design. For example, the use of colour is almost the same and the materials used are identical. The model consists of a leather upper, which has a warm brown colour. The chunky sole and suede toe are also brown.
To give the whole a sunnier feeling, brown-yellow details have been used. The three well-known adidas stripes and the heel are coloured brown. Above the three stripes the word 'MADRID' is printed in gold. Also the adidas logo on the tongue has been coloured gold.
adidas City Series
In the 70s, adidas started with the City Series. The models from this series are considered true classics in the sneaker scene. In recent years, more and more original colorways of the series are returning. Last year, we saw the return of the brown 'Amsterdam' colorway. Also, the 'Liverpool' design was released in 2020. What was special about this release was that the green colorway got a Size? exclusive release.
