With autumn just around the corner, adidas traditionally comes out with a new pack that celebrates the colourful Mexican festival ‘Día de los Muertos’. For 2024, the brand is releasing two iconic models: the Samba OG and Crazychaos 2000. Both models will drop in sleek black (for men) and crisp white (for women). Each features unique details that honour the tradition of the Día de los Muertos.
The Samba OG has been given a fresh look with embroidered flowers, reminiscent of the vibrant orange and yellow flowers on the altars during Día de los Muertos. The Crazychaos 2000, a slightly more chunky model, stands out with its multicoloured stripes and the same floral patterns around the heel.
Besides the flowers, skull motifs can also be found on the shoes. This is a subtle reference to the famous sugar skulls you often see during the party. These skulls are incorporated on the tongue and insoles of the trainers, which is a nice nod to the rich cultural significance. The stitching and colour combinations are also reminiscent of the festive atmosphere of Dia de los Muertos.
