First look at the Air Jordan 5 in the iconic UNC colorway
The iconic UNC colorway is returning once again. After the Air Jordan 1 'University Blue' from 2021, it's time for the Air Jordan 5 to arrive in the University of Carolina colors as well!
After some images were leaked back in June, we finally get in-hand images of the Air Jordan 5 'UNC'. The sneaker's upper is made of 'Caroline Blue' nubuck with silver accents featuring on the tongue and the 'teeth' on the midsole. To add diversity to the color scheme, the midsole appears in black just like the branding on the tongue and heel.
Further details include a translucent webbed window on the side panel and the rubber outsole also has a translucent finish. To complete the design, the inside of the tongues read 'HEART.' and 'SOUL.' flipped upside down.
According to the rumors, the Air Jordan 5 'UNC' will be released on March 4, 2023, via Nike and select retailers. The price is expected to be set at €200. Check out all the images of the shoe below. The leather top in 'University Blue' is interrupted by a hairy construction that functions as a breathable netting. The silver tongue is a detail taken from the first Air Jordan released in the 90's giving the model an authentic touch. Shark-tooth details on the midsole of the shoe combined with patches of blue-toned translucent rubber and the visible Air-sole unit give a touch of modernism to the overall style. The cushion-like inner-lining further personalises the sneaker with the sticking of upside-down tags stating "HEART" (right) and "SOUL" (left).
