The new year is slowly but surely getting underway and we can expect a lot of heat in the sneaker scene! Today we want to take a look into the future and present you some of the best sneaker releases of 2021:
One thing is certain: in 2021, we will see one model very often again, namely the Nike Dunk. In recent years, there have been many exclusive releases of this model. In 2021, we will see more releases that will be available at several retailers. This year we will also see a lot of Jordans with good retro's and new colorways. The Jordan 1 remains our favourite, but the Jordan 4 will also have top releases.
Kanye West has been shaping the world of sneakers for many years. This year he promises a few new models of his Yeezy and also different looks of the popular 350 V2 will drop. Besides these anticipated hyped releases, we will of course be keeping an eye on other brands. Karhu, New Balance, Reebok, Vans, Converse and ASICS have surprised us lately with good 'general releases' and collabos, which we are also counting on in 2021.
Sneakersnstuff X New Balance
The first big collabo of 2021 is called New Balance and Sneakersnstuff. Raffles for the sneaker will continue until 14 January! Later, there will probably also be a clothing collection of the collaboration. Read more about the release and the Raffles here.
adidas Yeezy Boost 700
The first Yeezy release of the year is a colourful 700. Bright orange and yellow colours have the upper hand on the chunky sneaker. Strikingly, the retail price is supposed to be significantly lower than before, namely "only" 240€. The sneaker will probably be released in January.
Air Jordan 1 High 'University Blue'
One of the first Air Jordan 1 releases we're looking forward to is this "University Blue" colourway. The colorblocking is of course a classic. Add to that the blue colour we know from the University of North Carolina and some previous Nike models, and we have another top sneaker.
Air Jordan 6 Retro 'Carmine'
Not a collaboration, not a new colorway, but an awesome retro release. It's not unusual that this look will be released again in 2021, as the model has been around for 30 years now. We expect many more good Air Jordan 6 releases in 2021.
adidas Yeezy Boost 350V2 'Ash Stone'
A Sneaker Releases 2021 list without a Yeezy Boost 350 is of course impossible. This time we get another 350 V2 with earthy tones. We've seen that more often lately. This colorway will probably be released around 28 February.
Nike Air Structure
An Air Max Retro that many have been looking forward to for a long time. The rumours about a return of this model have been around for a long time, but recently it is certain. One colorway that can't be missed then is this OG look. The sneaker doesn't have an official date yet, but it might come as early as February.
Jordan 4 University Blue
Another Jordan release in University Blue: This AJ4 looks a bit like Travis Scott's Jordan 4 and is one of the many Jordan 4s on the schedule for this year. The subtle blue colour on this sporty model makes for a special look.
Nike Air Max 90 NRG 'Bacon'
An Air Max that we actually expected for 2020, but which unfortunately never made it to market. We are talking about the retro release of the Nike Air Max 90 NRG 'Bacon'. This sneaker is super popular and dates back to 2004 - so it's about time for a retro release! We are now expecting the sneaker on Air Max Day, 26 March 2020.
Air Jordan 5 'Stealth'
This Air Jordan 5 is a modified version of the "Stealth" released in 2006. The base is almost the same, but the "flames" on the midsole are coloured black this time. A release is initially planned for 27 March.
Air Jordan 1 High 'Hyper Royal'
Another awesome Air Jordan on the list. It's always nice to see Air Jordan announce a lot of sneaker releases each season. This "Hyper Royal" version looks very similar to the "Turbo Green" variant of 2019 and is expected in summer. The full Jordan line up for Spring 2021 can be found here.
CLOT X Nike Air Max 1
This release has been talked about for a while, a re-release of the CLOT X Nike Air Max 1. Besides this sneaker, there are also rumours about other, new colorways. This is and remains one of the most special Air Max 1 releases ever and we are excited to see what awaits us in 2021.
A chic collab on the Dunk should also not be missing from this list. A detail that we are seeing more and more often is the "tear effect" on the upper of sneakers, with which you can give your kicks their own twist. If you use this sneaker for what it was made for, namely skateboarding, you automatically get the special tear away or used look. The Carpet Company X Nike SB Dunk is expected to be released in spring 2021.
Nike SB Dunk Low Pro 'Pink Pig'
As we said, 2021 is once again a year of the Dunk, both SB and sportswear. After many crazy colorways and collabs, we now get a calmer version with this look. A pink suede upper on a white midsole and a black outsole - simple but well executed.
Fragment X Sacai X Nike LDWaffle
Fragment releases are of course at the top of all our Top Cop lists. So when rumour has it that a triple collaboration is on the cards, alarm bells start ringing. Fragment will release a LDWaffle with Nike and Sacai. It remains to be seen whether this release will actually happen, but if it does, it can't be missing from the list of sneaker releases for 2021.
Sacai X Nike VaporWaffle
Other Sacai X Nike releases we are expecting are the new VaporWaffles. The first colorways have been well received and the new version has been reworked a bit. We don't have to wait long for this sneaker, because it is also planned for spring.
Supreme X Nike SB Dunk Low
Supreme and Nike SB released a set of 3 Dunk Highs in August 2003. Characteristic at that time were the 'crocodile leather' and the stars on the side. In 2021, a similar set of 4 Dunk Lows will be released. These drops also have the characteristic material and the stars.
Ambush X Nike Dunk High
The first release of the Ambush X Nike Dunk was incredibly popular. Now the second release is on the way and maybe even a third look. You can find all the info here. The "Royal Blue" colorway is rumoured to be released this summer.
Off-White X Air Jordan 4
After Virgil Abloh, designer and founder of Off-White, shared samples of The Ten collection, many rumours are already doing the rounds. The Air Jordan 4 is also rumoured to be released in the "Bred" colorway with the famous Off-White details.
Supreme X Nike Air Force 1
Supreme announced two "Never Out of Stock" Air Force releases for 2020. Unfortunately, the sneakers were mostly out of stock. In 2021, there will be another similar version, this time in the popular "Wheat" colourway. It is not yet known whether the sneakers will really be released as 'Never Out of Stock' this time.
Air Jordan 4 Retro Military Blue
We close the list with another Jordan release. This time it's the return of the AJ4 'Military Blue', with Nike Air branding on the heel. The last time we saw this Jordan in shops was in 2012.
That was our preliminary list of some of the top sneaker releases of 2021. Of course there will be many more hyped sneakers to come and also many strong general releases. You can find them all in our release calendar.
Every Monday we also keep you up to date with the Hottest Sneaker Releases of the week. You can find them regularly here, in our Sneaker News.
