Y's by Yohji Yamamoto has designed Supreme’s latest collection. The result is a blend of raw streetwear and the rebellious, avant-garde style for which Yamamoto is known. A punk-inspired collaboration with striking designs that perfectly fit both brands.
Yohji Yamamoto has a lot on his plate. Besides his designs for his eponymous label, his adidas Y-3 line, and the recent Yohji Yamamoto Eyewear collection, we now see a collaboration I personally didn’t expect: Supreme, a skate brand that has dominated the streets of New York (and beyond) for years.
The collaboration features standout designs that do more than just combine the logos of both brands. The lineup includes items such as a leather jacket, denim work jacket, knitwear, shirts, hoodies, denim cargo jeans, beanies, jewelry, and a fan for collectors among us.
The centerpiece of the collection is the Faux Fur WINDSTOPPER® bomber, which I can easily see in Playboi Carti’s wardrobe. The jacket comes in two colorways: black and deep red, both featuring a hood.
Yamamoto’s iconic skulls are also present throughout the collection, appearing in an all-over denim print and on details of the leather jacket. The punk spirit is clearly visible: knitwear features a devilish “666” graphic, and shirts showcase the Grim Reaper.
The jeans get a modern twist with a barrel fit, extra pockets, metal details, and skeleton-inspired accessories that complete the collection.
