Song For The Mute And adidas Unveil New Collection

The Australian label Song For The Mute is teaming up with adidas Originals again. This Song For The Mute x adidas collection reworks two familiar silhouettes for the Fall/Winter 2026 season: the Samba and the SL 72 Pro, each arriving in three new colorways with a clear, understated look.

It's not the first time Song For The Mute and adidas have joined forces. Over the past few years, the label has built a solid reputation through earlier adidas collaborations, including a rework of the Adistar Cushion, consistently blending a calm, mature take on sportswear with the brand's athletic roots. This new collection was first shown during Paris Fashion Week in January and builds on that reputation.

On the Samba, it's all about the heel. Song For The Mute gave the model a collapsible, crumpled heel, letting the sneaker switch in seconds from a laced sneaker to a slip-on. The silhouette comes in black leather, brown and green, each built from soft leather and suede overlays with tonal stitching on the Three Stripes and minimal branding. Underneath sits a traditional, semi-translucent gum sole that keeps the tie to the Samba's sporting roots.

A rugged upper for the SL 72 Pro

The SL 72 Pro gets an equally thorough overhaul. The model pairs a patchwork upper of woven fabric panels with suede overlays, rope laces and a deliberately weathered, broken-in finish. Underfoot sits a massive, stacked rocker midsole that gives the silhouette a chunky, retro-inspired look without losing wearing comfort.

The colorways vary noticeably by source. SneakerNews lists white, mustard yellow and blue/off-white, built on a prototype upper with a Lightstrike midsole and deliberately pre-scuffed soles. Hypebeast, on the other hand, mentions Collegiate Green, beige and off white. These are likely separate releases through different channels or regions; we're keeping an eye on it and will update this article once there's more clarity.

Release dates also differ between sources: adidas is said to make the collection available through its own app as early as September 18th, while Song For The Mute and adidas.com point to a wider release from October 16th. A Dutch or European release date has not yet been officially confirmed. Pricing hasn't been revealed either; we'll update this article as soon as the European retail price is known.

Alongside the two sneakers, the collaboration also brings matching apparel, with track jackets, pants, shorts and tees in the same earthy, muted tones. That pairing of footwear and clothing fits how Song For The Mute prefers to work: calm, considered and without unnecessary fuss.

The collection ties into Song For The Mute's quiet 'slow design' philosophy, adding an understated, earthy layer to two familiar adidas classics.
