The annual presentation of the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, was held on March 13, 2023. The event counted its 95th edition this year. During the event, as many as 23 Oscars were awarded for the best films, actors and actresses, animations and so on. Everything Everywhere All at Once was the big winner of the evening, winning a whopping seven awards.
Michelle Yeoh, the lead actress from Everything Everywhere All at Once, became the first actress of Asian descent to take home an Oscar. The actress appeared in Dior. The evening was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Rihanna was also in attendance, performed her latest song Lift Me Up, and showed off her baby bump (number two) on the champagne-colored carpet.

Rihanna is back on the scene and she's letting people know it. The singer released her last album ANTI in 2016 and has remained under the radar in terms of music ever since. In 2022, she released her previous song 'Lift Me Up' for the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She has since returned to the spotlight, showing off her baby bump during the Superbowl Halftime Show last month.
During the Oscars, the singer proudly displayed her pregnant belly of child number two with artist ASAP Rocky. Rihanna appeared in no less than three outfits and performed her latest song. For her performance, the singer was seen wearing the well-known PUMA Suede sneakers. In early March, PUMA announced that Rihanna was back and that the two names will come up with a new collection in 2023.
Emotional night for Brendan Fraser
Another big winner of the evening was actor Brendan Fraser. Fraser took home the Oscar for best actor for the film The Whale and did so with an emotional speech. The actor had not appeared in films for many years and called his career "not always the easiest".
Michael B. Jordan in Louis Vuitton
Also spotted on the red (or rather champagne) carpet was Michael B. Jordan in a Louis Vuitton outfit. The actor is currently starring in the third edition of the movie Creed, a film about a boxing legend. In addition to playing the lead role, the actor also made his directorial debut with Creed III. Jordan also starred in the nominated film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Marvel film took home an Oscar for best costume design.
Questlove in Crocs
One standout look on the carpet was that of American musician Questlove. The artist came in an outfit by Zegna and paired the suit with a pair of studded Crocs. The Crocs appear to be inspired by the Salehe Bembury Crocs and have a chunky look.
Idris Elba in Gucci
British actor Idris Elba was spotted on the carpet in a Gucci outfit. The actor is starring in the new Netflix film Luther: The Fallen Sun, a sequel to the successful series Luther. Rumors had been circulating for some time about the idea of Idris possibly becoming the next James Bond. After seeing Luther: The Fallen Sun, Idris seems like the perfect fit for the next 007 movie.
Amira-Dior Traynham-Artis designs sneakers for Oscars gift bag
14-year-old Amira-Dior Traynham-Artis got the chance to promote her own sneaker line Lane 1 during the Oscars. Her sneakers were given away to the nominees. During the corona pandemic, the young designer began designing her first sneakers. Especially for the Oscars, the Amira-Dior made custom sneakers.
