PUMA comes together with Pokémon to release an expanded collection on 12 November 2022. This collection pays tribute to the 25th anniversary of The Pokémon Company International. PUMA and Pokémon will come up with five sneakers and matching apparel. Check out the collection.
Pokémon x PUMA
PUMA and Pokémon are coming together for the first time, releasing an extensive collection to mark the 25th anniversary of the TV show and card game. Pokémon was founded in the late 1990s and started out as a gaming game. In recent years, the game has gained its own card game, TV show and films.
Today, Pokémon has become a globally known franchise. Rare Pokémon cards are worth more these days than ever before, and the influences of the Japanese franchise can be seen everywhere even after 25 years. So too in the new PUMA collection, which takes inspiration from the characters (Pokémons) from the series.
The collection focuses on the five best-known Pokémons. These include Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbausar and Squirtle. The fictional characters also appear in the games, series and card games. Each Pokémon has its own unique powers that can be used during a battle. Pokémon trainers choose their favourite Pokémons and shout the well-known quote "I choose you!" during battle.
Collection
Earlier in November, sneakers from the collaboration were shown. The collaboration features classic PUMA silhouettes, and comes with the Suede 'Squirtle', Rider FV 'Pikachu', RS-X 'Pikachu', Slipstream Lo 'Charmander' and Rider FV 'Bulbasaur'. Each sneaker takes its inspiration from a Pokémon and is also named after the respective character.
Now PUMA is showing the matching collection with various clothing items. In the collection, we see hoodies, sweatpants, shirts and accessories. The collab comes with items for women, men and children. Each item features a Pokémon. Again, the Pokémons Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Charmander have been used.
The clothing items are made from 20% recycled materials, making it a sustainable collection. Besides the Pokémons, the PUMA logo also appears on every item. The collection stays close to the German sports brand's DNA. Check out some unique items from the Pokémon x PUMA collab below.
