The Nike Air Force 1 silhouette, introduced in 1982, has been around for decades. The new Our Force 1 collection now pays homage to Nike's first 50 years and is designed for the digital generation. The .SWOOSH Our Force 1 collection showcases expressive and never-before-seen digital renditions of Air Force 1 Lows from the past, present, and future.
'Classic Remix' and 'New Wave'
The digital world is playing an increasingly important role in the sneaker scene. After the arrival of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), Nike is now introducing the .SWOOSH Our Force 1 collection. The collection features unique and never-before-seen digital variations of the Air Force 1 Low.
The collection comes with virtual Air Force 1 creations. Each creation is housed in one of two OF1 shoeboxes; the 'Classic Remix' or the 'New Wave'. Each shoebox has its own distinctive characteristics. The 'Classic Remix' box is a portal to Nike's nostalgia, celebrating historic details while also providing a glimpse into the future.
The 'New Wave box' is a gateway to a universe of AF1s that you've never seen before. Scattered throughout both boxes are some of the most talked-about AF1s from the archives, along with entirely new interpretations of the classic. The Our Force 1 collection is Nike's tribute to the creativity and versatility of the AF1.
.SWOOSH will organize an "airdrop" with a free digital poster. The poster designs are "reimagination[s] of heritage ads from the OG days" and will be distributed to random .SWOOSH members.
Some posters prioritize members of Nike's Diversity Equity and Inclusion communities, including those who have personally attended a .SWOOSH session. Nike will reveal more about the Our Force 1 collection in the coming months. Check out the timeline below.
