Nike introduces the Air Max 90 Futura, a WMNS variant of the classic AM90. The model has a striking design and adds different elements to it. The sneaker is designed exclusively for women and is available in four different colorways.
Nike Air Max 90 Futura WMNS
The Nike Air Max 90 Futura WMNS has a unique look. The sneaker takes its inspiration from the iconic Air Max 90 model, which was introduced in 1990. Like its predecessor, the Air Max 1, the Air Max 90 was designed by Tinker Hatfield. The AM90 silhouette received a larger Air Unit, which gave the model a modern look.
Recently Nike came out with the Terrascape line, which also featured the AM90. Now Nike comes again with a new variant of the Air Max 90, the Futura. The mod el is a WMNS exclusive and is therefore only available in women's sizes. The renewed silhouette is available in four colorways. The 'Sanddrift', 'Summit White', 'Grey Pastel' and 'Triple White'.
All four colorways retain the same Air technology as the classic Air Max 90. The upper combines different materials and adds scraps to the upper. Various plastic details are also added to the lace-up.
The 'Sanddrift' colorway
A standout Air Max 90 Futura colorway, is the 'Sanddrift'. This pair combines different shades of pink and beige. The upper shades beige and is made of mesh. The overlays are suede and leather. A striking detail on the 'Sanddrift', is the sawtooth element on the toe cap. This overlay has a ribbed look at the toe.
The toe cap has been given additional elements unlike its predecessor, the classic Air Max 90. The mudguard colors beige and is made of leather. Above the mudguard are pink, leather overlays. These give the sneaker a fresh twist. Pink plastic elements appear on the lace-up. These give the pair a modern look.
A unique detail, is the element on the heel. Here a pink, leather emblem is placed with a small Swoosh. The branding on the tongue has a special look as well. The emblem on the tongue is made of leather and colors pink. On it, Air Max is printed in cursive letters. The Swoosh colors off-white and runs across the mudguard.

'Triple White'
In addition to the 'Sanddrift', the Nike Air Max 90 Futura WMNS is also available in three other colorways. The 'Summit White', 'Grey Pastel' and 'Triple White' share the same design and combine different pastel shades. The 'Triple White' colors all-white and, like the 'Sanddrift', adds different elements to the upper.
'Summit White'
The 'Summit White' colors white, mint green with beige. The translucent outsole colors light blue and gives the sneaker a modern twist. Pull loops appear on the tongue and heel. These also color lilac. The collar turns beige and has extra padding that gives the sneaker a comfortable feel.
'Grey Pastel'
The fourth, and final colorway, is the 'Grey Pastel'. This pair has a light blue, mesh upper. The leather and suede overlays color gray, green and yellow. The label on the tongue is leather and colors green. The Air Unit colors light blue.
