After its striking debut on Junya Watanabe’s Paris Fashion Week runway last week, the New Balance P400 is now gearing up for its very first general release. The first colorway to hit the lineup is the ‘Black Inkwell’, featuring eye-catching blue accents.
What immediately stands out is the sleek checkerboard upper. The tightly woven structure gives the P400 an almost armored look with a distinctly futuristic feel. The black toe caps add durability and provide a clean contrast, while the dynamic black-and-white weave creates a sense of movement and depth.
The Inkwell blue accents deliver the necessary contrast, appearing subtly yet effectively on the iconic ‘N’ logo, the lace stays, and the stabilizing element in the midsole. The tongue is finished in white mesh with grey reflective details, a nod to classic performance runners.
Underfoot, New Balance delivers as expected: the Fresh Foam X midsole ensures maximum responsiveness and comfort.
The New Balance P400 ‘Black Inkwell’ will drop on February 11, 2026, at selected retailers. Check out the official images below and keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for more updates like this.
