The release celebrates the fifth anniversary of the BAPE store located inside Comme des Garçons’ flagship store in Osaka, as part of a capsule collection. A remarkable clash, considering the very different design styles of BAPE and CdG. Although previous collaborations between these two brands have already proven that the duo can work together very well.

The sneaker features a white colorway with BAPE and CdG logos scattered across the design. The Sta logo, iconic for BAPE sneakers, is prominently displayed on the mid-panel. Over it runs the CdG logo, stretching from the toe to the heel.
Silver details on the lace area give the sneaker a chic appearance. A release that perfectly blends the styles of both brands, although it feels like the sneaker might have arrived a few years too late. Don’t get me wrong: the sneaker will undoubtedly sell out in no time, but this release might have fit better around 2010.
Maybe all the controversy around the Bape Sta didn't help here. Maybe the striking design would have suited the early 2010s sneaker landscape better. Or maybe the Nike Air Force 1 — sorry, Bape Sta — was more popular back then. I honestly can't say.

The Comme des Garçons x BAPE sneaker is part of a matching collection, which includes T-shirts and jackets featuring the logos of both brands. The collection will drop on April 29, 2025, most likely exclusively at the CdG store in Osaka.
