This fall, KARHU and Engineered Garments are joining forces again for their second collaboration. Previously, the duo worked on an exclusive Mestari Family & Friends release for the staff of the Nepenthes Store. The next project focuses on the classic Mestari with an asymmetrical twist.
The result speaks for itself.
Mestari vs. Sprint
For this collaboration, Daiki Suzuki, founder of Engineered Garments, delved into KARHU’s archives and brought together two classics: the Mestari and the Sprint, a fusion of KARHU’s popular running shoe and a cross-country ski shoe.

The Mestari holds legendary status. The shoe was introduced in the 1970s as the first running shoe with Air Cushion technology and sold like hotcakes. In the collaboration with Engineered Garments, the silhouette gets a fresh, asymmetrical twist.

The sneaker arrives in a colorway combining ‘Superstar Orange,’ ‘Master Green,’ and ‘Champion Blue.’ The asymmetrical design ensures the left side of the shoe differs from the right. The mix of suede, leather, and nylon gives the sneaker a luxurious appearance.
With this release, KARHU shows how heritage and modern design vision can be effortlessly combined, with the signature finesse of Engineered Garments. A must-have for any sneaker enthusiast.
Release
The sneaker drops on September 13, 2025, at KARHU and selected retailers. Check out the campaign images below and see all release details in the Sneakerjagers release calendar.
