CLOT’s recent footwear journey may be most closely tied to adidas, but that doesn’t mean the Hong Kong label is limiting its collaborative reach. After the success of their first project earlier this year, CLOT and BAPE are returning for round two.
This time, the duo rework the BAPE STA, bringing in their signature patterns and minimal colour palette.
CLOT x BAPE
The standout feature of this release is the clever blend of CLOT’s ALIENGRA texture and BAPE’s classic camo. Digitised and layered to create a subtle yet eye-catching effect. The pairs come in two colorways. A monochrome black-and-grey, and a more traditional olive green.
Staying true to both brands’ style codes, the design remains minimal despite the pattern-heavy overlays. Details like alternating logos on the vamp, heel tab, and lace dubrae round off the look, with 'CLOT STA' branding making a direct but not overpowering appearance.
Alongside the footwear, the capsule includes co-branded tees, trucker hats, and exclusive 'CLOT STA' shirts available only at Juice store locations.
This collaboration also highlights an interesting triangle of brand relationships. CLOT famously shifted its focus from Nike to adidas. BAPE, meanwhile, is currently in legal conflict with Nike, though its founder Nigo maintains close creative ties with the Swoosh. And now, BAPE and adidas continue their long-standing partnership, with CLOT bridging the gap.
