A new Friday, a new Tim en Tom Sneaker Podcast. This week, the show is a bit different from what you’re used to. To celebrate the sneaker documentary Just For Kicks, a must-see for every sneaker enthusiast, Sneakerjagers, together with Patta's Edson Sabajo, FC Centrum, and Melkweg Amsterdam, brought this classic back to the big screen.
The screening took place in the heart of Amsterdam, with none other than Thibaut de Longeville, the director of Just For Kicks, and Bobbito Garcia, renowned sneaker journalist and DJ, calling in from the United States.
Tim en Tom Sneaker Podcast

Every other week, Tim Beumers and Tommy Triggah take you into their world of sneakers, fashion, and music. In their podcast, they dive into the latest releases, standout trends, and the newest news from the sneaker community. They also share their own experiences and memories of the scene, which they have been part of for years.

But they don’t do it alone. Each episode features a guest who has influenced the streetwear and sneaker world with their story. Big names like E-Life, Kingsize, Defano Holwijn, Dio, and Winne have already joined them.
For the latest episode, Sneakerjagers brought two special guests to Amsterdam, instead of their cozy headquarters in Utrecht.

Every once in a while, a documentary, album, or project comes out that has such an impact that you still feel it 20 years later. The sneaker documentary Just For Kicks is one of those. Directed by Thibaut de Longeville and Lisa Leone, the film shows how sneakers became a central element of hip-hop culture.
The documentary features major names such as Grandmaster Caz, Reverend Run, Missy Elliott, Damon Dash, Futura, RUN D.M.C., and many others, all of whom have left their mark on the scene.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Tim and Tom, with the help of Edson Sabajo, co-founder of Patta, FC Centrum, and Melkweg Amsterdam, brought the film back to the big screen. On September 15, 2025, the film was screened, featuring, as the poster stated, “special guests.”
Thibaut de Longeville
One of those “special guests” was none other than Thibaut de Longeville, the director of the documentary. The filmmaker, creative director, and sneaker culture expert, as he proudly calls himself, focuses in his work primarily on the crossover between fashion, music, and hip-hop.

In 2005, Just For Kicks was released, a sneaker documentary that shed light on stories that hadn’t been told before. Thanks to his enthusiasm and perseverance, De Longeville was able to access archives and bring in the world’s biggest brands and most influential names for his documentary.
In 2010, his next project followed: Air Force 1: Anatomy of an Urban Legend, a film that, as you might guess, is entirely focused on the Air Force 1. Besides films, he is involved in various creative projects and campaigns, usually with sneakers at the center.
Bobbito Garcia

Another special guest who was present, or at least present via phone, was American DJ, radio host, writer, filmmaker, and sneaker expert Bobbito Garcia. He is known for his influential role in hip-hop and sneaker culture, notably through his legendary radio shows, such as The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show, which gave countless artists a platform.
In 1995, he founded the vinyl label Fondle ‘Em Records, a platform for artists like MF DOOM, MF Grimm, Kool Keith, and Cage. In 1998, The Source named The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show the “Best Hip Hop Radio Show of All Time.”
