AVAVAV is back to remind us that fashion doesn't always need to be so serious. After kicking off its adidas partnership last year with the absurdly renowned 'Superfinger' sneakers, AVAVAV is doubling down on its playful and chaotic style.
AVAVAV is unleashing a wild duo this time: the 'Moonrubber' and a radically warped version of the Superstar.
The 'Moonrubber' resembles a fusion of a tech runner with a cartoon space boot. It begins with adidas' Megaride base of mesh upper and hexagonal bounce units, but that's where the logic ends. The silhouette ends with an outsole inflated with glossy, bulbous extensions. Removable? Unknown. Wearable? Questionable.
Then there's the 'Superstar Modified'. The pair keeps the familiar shell-toe upper, but jacks up the sole into a chunky, caricature-like silhouette. It comes in two colorways: an all-black goth and a more distressed off-white/red combo emitting a retro-sport energy.
The AVAVAV x adidas collab drops May 22, 2025, via CONFIRMED. The 'Moonrubber' retails for €350 and the 'Superstar Modified' for €280. So if you've ever wanted to stomp through life like a fashionable jester, now it's your chance.
