If there’s one duo you can trust blindly, it’s Action Bronson and New Balance. The pair is responsible for a range of diverse designs, most recently the release of the 992 ‘Tiger Eye’. Their next collaboration introduces a new silhouette: the New Balance 1890.
The Queens-born artist and chef recently revealed the first images of this never-before-seen model. The silhouette bridges the gap between the classic running DNA New Balance is known for and bold technical details.
The sneaker, titled ‘Baklava’, features dynamic overlays and breathable underlays. Like the New Balance ABZORB 2000 released in 2025, this model uses the brand’s signature ABZORB pods, although they are integrated a bit more subtly here due to the shape of the midsole.
As we’ve come to expect from Bronson’s releases, this sneaker also comes in a striking color palette. Shades such as denim blue, grey, green, and red alternate across the upper, while a purple tongue completes the look.
Shortly after the unveiling of the first blue colorway, the first images of a possible second colorway also appeared, combining off-white, yellow, and blue.
Release
For now, it’s not yet known when the Action Bronson x New Balance 1890 ‘Baklava’ and the other showcased colorway will be released. The rapper did mention, however, that we can expect the release in the first quarter of 2026.
