1. Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG 'University Red' - Big Bubble
During Air Max Day 2023, the much-discussed 'Big Bubble' made a comeback. A precursor to the Air Max 1, the silhouette was known for the enlarged Air Unit in the midsole that was so large it burst in winter. This led Thinker Hatfield to return to the drawing board and eventually create the iconic Air Max 1.
2. Nike Air Max 1 'Ironstone'
The Nike Air Max 1 'Ironstone' features a streamlined design. This sneaker has a white mesh upper with suede overlays in the colour 'Sail' placed all over the silhouette. The centre panel features the Swoosh in a dark brown colour.
3. Nike Air Max 1 DLX Atmos Animal Pack 2.0
The Nike Air MAx 1 DLX Atmos stands out for its distinctive look, combining various animal prints with a furry upper. In 2016, Nike also released the 'Atmos Safari', which used a similar animal print on the upper. With its unique design, the Atmos Animal Pack has earned a special place among fans of the Air Max 1.
4. Nike Air Max 1 'Patta Waves Monarch'
In 2021, the Nike Air Max 1 received an iconic makeover from Patta. In which the signature wave pattern was added to the sneaker's mudguard. 5. Nike Air Max 1 'Premium Blueprint'
In 2022, the Nike Air Max 1 'Premium Blueprint' was released to mark Air Max Day. This sneaker was exclusively available in North America and therefore hard to find in the Netherlands. The sneaker has a white base with light blue accents and striking details on the Swoosh and heel.
6. Nike Air Max 1 PRM 'Somos Familia'
In 2022, the Nike Air Max 1 PRM 'Somos Familia' was released in honour of Latin Heritage Month. Like the previous pair, this release was not available in the Netherlands at the time. For instance, there is a floral print on the mudguard and the Swoosh is placed on the centre panel with striking stitching.
7. Nike Air Max 1' Design by Japan'
The Nike Air Max 1 'Design By Japan' is a collaboration between Eric Goto and Japanese SNKRS members in honour of Air Max Day 2023. The design takes inspiration from the Nike Sting, a running shoe from 1970, which is reflected in its vintage look with white mesh, green leather and orange heels. The shoe also features a foam tongue, cream-coloured laces and tinted midsoles.
8. Nike Air Max 1 Travis Scott Cactus Jack 'Saturn Gold'
The 'Saturn Gold' features Travis Scott's signature inverted Swoosh. Furthermore, rope laces and patterned webbing are added to the design to exude a mountaineer look. The entire shoe is done in a wheat-coloured gold, with only blue splashes on the laces and straps for a contrasting touch. The look is rounded off by a dark outsole.
9. Nike Air Max 1 'Crepe Hemp' 2022
The Nike Air Max 1 'Crepe Hemp' is inspired by the 2004 'Crepe' colourway and features a linen upper that creates a unique look. The centre panel features a light blue Swoosh and the Nike brand can be found on the tongue, heel and insole.
10. Nike Air Max 1 SP Concepts Mellow
The latest pair of Air Max 1s in our list was designed in collaboration with Concepts and the 'Mellow' pair is a real eye-catcher. The Air Max 1's upper is made of denim and canvas with different prints and colour schemes. The tongue, laces and lining come in a burgundy colour and the tongue is finished with velour.
