PUMA Suede Sneakers
Over the past five decades, the PUMA Suede design has been synonymous with performance, innovation, and change. It was the first time that the brand appeared at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico, which marked a turning point in its strategy. With the launch of PUMA apparel in 1968, the PUMA "Crack" was the company's first lifestyle shoe.
In 1970, PUMA's 'Crack' model was recognised for its potential for basketball shoes by basketball player Walt "Clyde" Frazier. Because of the contract with Frazier, PUMA Clyde was only available in the US. Following the termination of the contract, PUMA Clyde continued to be produced as a standalone design while PUMA Suede was introduced for worldwide distribution.
Emerging as a streetwear icon in the 1980s, the Suede design gained popularity among the skateboarding and breakdance scenes. Its suede construct offers flexibility, breathability and makes it available in a variety of colours. PUMA Suede remains an icon in the brand's portfolio featuring unbeatable comfort in a versatile look that can be easily integrated into any outfit.
