Introducing the Future Rider

Given that Puma Future Rider is the iconic Fast Rider's successor, it has a distinguished legacy. The Fast Rider shoe was initially a jogging shoe with the renowned Puma ‘Federbein’ sole that was created in the 1980s by Armin A. Dassler, the son of company founder Rudolf Dassler.

The Future Rider Technology

The new Rider line has been adapted to the changing needs of the market while considering past performance and future technological advancements. By using the same breathable nylon as the base of the sneaker and strengthening it with a suede toe guard, the design pays homage to the original from the 1980s.

To ensure the least amount of stress on the Achilles tendon, the midsole of the shoe remains elevated in relation to the rest of the sole. The ‘Federbein’ sole was groundbreaking when it was created, but the new Future Rider incorporates new Rider Foam technology for enhanced support and padding.

The Rider Legacy

The contemporary iterations of the vintage Fast Rider line are the Puma Future Rider and Style Rider, both of which were introduced in 2018. The design quickly gained popularity in the street-style scene after making its debut in colorways with vibrant 80s blocking. Following their commercial success, the Mile Rider and Cruise Rider integrated the Rider family's feminine components in 2020.
