DC Shoes Sneakers
It all started in 1989 when 22-year-old snowboarder Ken Block created a brand called Eightball to sell shirts. He learned the skills to make these shirts at Palomar Community College in San Marcos, California, and it was here where he became friends with skateboarder Damon Way.
Way helped Blocks find shops to sell his clothing in, and his brother Danny Way was one of the first professional skateboarders to wear the brand.
After the pair set up shop in a department store and contracted a fellow student, Aaron Lovejoy, to print the jerseys, unfortunately they received a notice saying there was already a company called Eightball, so they changed their name to DC shoes (originally standing for Droors Clothing).
The brand got a lot of support from bands like Cypress Hill and Beastie Boys as well as professional snow and skateboarders. In 2004, DC Shoes was bought by Quiksilver, becoming even bigger as an extreme sports brand.
DC Shoes was relaunched in 2011 with the ‘Rediscover DC’ campaign, featuring a series of videos introducing the new DC skate team.
Today DC Shoes offer comfortable, high quality and durable models like the DC Lynx and DC Legacy, specifically designed to keep you going through action sports such as skateboarding and snowboarding.
Generally, DC Shoes sneakers do run true to size, but they also tend to run a bit wider than average.
