The ASICS Sportstyle GT-2160 is a modern revival of a lesser-known silhouette from ASICS' GT-2000 lineage.
Originally introduced in 2011 as the GT-2160, it was the lightest stability runner in its line at that time, featuring dual GEL® cushioning units and ASICS' DuoMax support geometry to aid overpronation. When refreshed for the Sportstyle category, the design leans heavily into the tech-runner aesthetic of the early 2010s: a wavy, segmented midsole, exposed GEL inserts, and layered mesh/synthetic uppers that evoke industrial and oxidised-metal motifs.
