The adidas Crazy 8 (originally launched as the adidas KB8) was Kobe Bryant’s first signature basketball shoe, debuting in the late 1990s when he joined adidas straight out of high school.
It debuted in 1997 and made a splash thanks to its aggressive styling and performance-minded features. Its design was notable for bold, angular overlays, a zig-zag midsole, and a curved, rounded 'Feet You Wear' sole unit that prioritised natural foot movement and comfort.
Underfoot, the shoe used an EVA midsole and a Torsion stability plate to support quick cuts and transitions, while the outsole featured a herringbone tread for grip on hardwood.
