The Japanese music duo YOASOBI is releasing their first collaboration with ASICS. The collab introduces three colorways of the ASICS GEL‑KINETIC FLUENT Y: 'Midnight/Dragon Fruit,' 'Black/Black,' and 'Piedmont Grey/Pure Silver'. In addition to the sneakers, the collaboration also includes matching apparel.
The GEL-KINETIC FLUENT Y features a sporty design with customized details inspired by YOASOBI’s song Just a Little Step. The model combines performance materials with eye-catching finishes and technical details.
The sneaker includes a custom 'YOASOBI' tag and a practical quick-release drawcord at the heel, a technical and agile element that helps when putting on the shoe. Each of the three colorways gives the silhouette its own character, from the more contrasting 'Midnight/Dragon Fruit, to the minimalist 'Black', and the more futuristic 'Piedmont Grey/Pure Silver'.
Alongside the sneakers, the duo is also releasing a matching apparel capsule. The collection uses a color palette of white, black, and purple, matching the sneakers. Highlights include a track jacket and track pants, with the pants featuring side zippers for extra functionality.
The branding from ASICS and YOASOBI remains subtle and appears in small embroidered logos.
