The Nike Phoenix Waffle actually comes from the 1970s and is closely linked to the running boom of the time and the need for comfortable sneakers. The design of the kick is strongly reminiscent of this earlier era of running, in which Nike itself was still in its founding phase.
Back then, the Nike Waffle has actually been one of the brand's more popular models, but has hardly been seen on the streets in recent years. Now the WMNS sneaker is making a comeback and in a revamped version in 2023.
Just like before, the design comes with a suede upper and reflective accents in 70s style. The vintage Swoosh and tongue have also been retained. However, the waffle tread, for example, has been reworked and is now even lighter. The midsole is also slightly thicker and provides an even softer feel.
