A new Nike Dunk High release is announced! In the course of the still ongoing Dunk hype, many popular, old colorways from the Dunk history are being revived, and this time it's the Nike Dunk High 'Game Royal' that makes our sneaker hearts beat faster! The kicks will be released on Friday 11 June 2021 at 09:00.
Over the last few months we've seen a lot of old OG colorways return that were part of the now legendary 'Be True To Your School' pack. This refers to college basketball, where it all started for the Nike Dunk. The first Dunk was designed in 1985 and Nike then took advantage of the fact that the rivalry in college basketball was very high at the time. So 12 colorways were designed for the major colleges. The very first Dunk came in red and white colorblocking.
Some designs from back then have received comebacks or similar versions over the years. From 2020-2021, the Nike Dunk High 'Varsity Maize', 'Michigan', 'Syracuse' and 'Varsity Purple' have seen their retro release on the Dunk High.
Nike Dunk High 'Game Royal' | DD1399-102
The new/old colorway is very reminiscent of the Nike Dunk 'Kentucky', which was launched in 2016 in the High variant and 2020 in the Low Variant. In terms of colour, the 'Game Royal' Dunk High has the same colorblocking as the low version from 2020 and is a nice contrast to the white background.
We see a white base, with blue overlays on a smooth leather upper. A white midsole with a 'Game Royal' outsole completes the look and the laces have also been given the blue colour. The sneaker is not only launched for adults. Children's and baby sizes will also be released in this colorway.
