About Todd Snyder
Todd Snyder has been designing modern menswear since launching his own brand in 2011. His style incorporates his love for New York City and, as Todd says, his creations show that good style can always be attainable and playful. This is reflected in the collections and limited-edition designs with brands like Champion, New Balance, Timex, Moscot, Moby's, FJ Company and of course Converse. Through his own work and collaborative projects, Todd Snyder has developed into an important American designer.
The collaboration between Todd Snyder and Converse
The new collection is the very first collaboration between Todd Snyder and Converse. It's inspired by the legacy of badminton player Jack Purcell, which is also the name of one of Converse's most famous shoes. In addition, the collection is accompanied by the "You Don't Know Jack" campaign that highlights a wide range of athletes and cultural figures, from DJ Clark Kent to WNBA star Natasha Cloud to Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson. What the Converse x Todd Snyder collection consists of
The two variants of the Jack Purcell sneaker are the centrepiece of the collection. The kicks come in both a Navy and Egret colourway, designed with organic cotton. Underfoot, the sole consists of recycled rubber, which is combined with a cork sock liner for an eco-friendly effect. In addition, the cushioning has been adjusted for extra comfort.
The kicks also feature rich suede details, embroidered Todd Snyder logos and hidden pink accents that nod to the somewhat old-fashioned oxford shirts. Finally, the Converse silhouettes both retain the signature smile on the toe.
In addition to the two Jack Purcell shoes, the collection also includes eight pieces of clothing: a baseball cap, tracksuit, rugby shirt, jersey and a polo shirt. The main pieces are the tracksuit with tartan pattern inspired by tattersall shirt fabrics, the Ivy-style thick cotton rugby shirts and the crewneck with the original "Jack Purcell Racquet Club" graphic embroidered on the front.
