Nike has confirmed that the retro release of the Fragment Design x Nike Dunk High 'Beijing' will be released on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The pair first dropped in 2010 and was part of the 'City Pack' of the same collab. The new version is very similar to the original design, but it does not have the asymmetrical design of its predecessor. The purple shoe will be available via Nike SNKRS and at various shops from 09:00AM and for €150.

While the exact same colour tones are maintained for the leather upper, there is, as already mentioned, no more asymmetrical colourblocking on the individual kicks. This then naturally results in a more uniform look. Along the toebox, sides and collar of these high-top sneakers you'll see a royal 'wine' shade. This is completed with solid black overlays and swooshes.
The fragment design signature and their emblem are embossed on the lateral heels in white, while further branding elements can be found printed on the midsoles in black.
Fragment Design x Nike Dunk High 'City Pack'
At the end of last year or the beginning of this year (2021), we were already expecting a retro release of the 'City Pack' through a teaser published on Instagram. At the time, designer Hiroshi Fujiwara personally shared a picture of a Fragment dunk on Instagram. Since the post was only in black and white, we could only speculate.
In 2010, the trio of the 'City Pack' was released in - of course - three colorways. Each colorway represented one of the cities London, New York and Beijing.
The different two-tone looks, released more than a decade ago, feature dark, striking and vibrant tones. All three pairs were made of leather, with the pink and yellow inspired by London, the classic colorway with red and white by New York City and the dark kicks by Beijing.
In the original pack you could also see the fragment design flash on the heel. For now, we can only look forward to the Fragment Design x Nike Dunk High 'Beijing', so the hype is huge. This year is under a Dunk star anyway, so we can look forward to even more releases.
