Snipes is taking big steps to increase their physical presence in the United States. One of these steps is taking over the Jimmy Jazz shops.
Snipes
Snipes is one of the biggest sneaker retailers in Europe. You can find one or more branches in almost every city in the Netherlands. They have a wide range of sneakers for men, women and children.
Besides selling sneakers, Snipes also specialises in selling streetwear items. They sell clothes from brands like Carhartt WIP, Jordan and Sean John. Recently they had a collaboration with McDonald's. Together they released a co-branded clothing line.
Growing in the United States
Snipes has signed an agreement to buy the American retail chain Jimmy Jazz. This deal, which will be completed by the end of this year, will take Snipes from one hundred physical shops to two hundred and seventy shops. Snipes already has four hundred and fifty shops worldwide.
According to Sven Voth, the CEO and founder of Snipes, the company continues to grow despite the major drawbacks of this current pandemic. "Through our 'community first' concept, we focus very much on the customer. We can't wait to expand this service through our partnership with Jimmy Jazz," says Voth.
With the terms of the deal, Snipes can use Jimmy Jazz's influence to expand into other parts of the continent where both Snipes and Jimmy Jazz are not yet established.
Jimmy Khezrie, owner of retail chain Jimmy Jazz, praises the agreement with Snipes. "With Snipes, we have added a strong partner who shares the same passion as we do. They will be a good way to continue our legacy in our shops and in our team."
This deal is the largest deal Snipes has ever signed and shows the retail chain's focus on its presence in the United States. It wasn't until May 2019 that Snipes first entered the United States through a deal with KicksUSA. In the same year, they made great strides through a deal with Mr. Alan's, which gave them even more physical shops and made them very big in a short time.
In October 2021, Snipes opened a second shop in Brooklyn on the same street. The company's president, Jim Bojko, said then that the company will only grow.
"Our mission is to push street culture even more into our communities. We have a local presence with everything we do. To carry out this mission, we also need to have a local presence in our communities to engage with them, to support them, to empower them and to celebrate with them."
