The collab between Awake NY and Jordan Brand finally has an official release date! The striking Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship sneaker steals the show, along with six apparel pieces and a cap. This collection celebrates the special connection between New York City, basketball, and streetwear. We could already see the official images back in February 2024, and now we also know where and when we can cop the items!
The Nike Jordan Air Ship model may not be as well known to many sneaker lovers as some other models. Nevertheless, this silhouette is one of the most important and first models released by the brand. The history of this model is extraordinarily rich and has considerable cultural significance for the sneaker community.
For those unfamiliar with Awake NY, it is a New York-based streetwear label founded in 2012 by Angelo Baque. Known for its unique New York aesthetic, the label has collaborated with several other brands, including Reebok, ASICS, Patta, and Carhartt WIP. And now it is set to collaborate with one of the biggest sneaker brands in the world, namely Jordan Brand.
Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship
The Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship has a striking look with a white leather upper. This is enhanced by a Metallic Silver Swoosh with an outline of Gym Red. In addition, black accents provide even more contrast, such as the black Wings logo embossed on the side of the ankle collar.
Other notable features include Awake NY's 'A' logo on the side, the 'aged' midsole, and a semi-transparent outsole. The finishing touch to the design is the metallic Jumpman hangtag you receive with the trainers.
Following the successful release of the Awake NY x Jordan Brand collection in the US, it's now Europe's turn on April 13, 2024. You can buy these items via Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.
With this EU release, you'll also receive the accessories that accompanied the Awake Jordan Air Ship release in the US. This includes a co-branded shoe box and a NYC-inspired pamphlet.
