The word is out! The new Patta SS21 collection is coming and it's one to look forward to. Patta describes the collection as 'the most experimental and provocative collection' ever.
BEHIND THE SS21 COLLECTION
Patta gives the spring-summer collection a message that they believe in as a brand. 'Given the current climate we find ourselves in, we feel it is our duty to stand up.' They go back to basics and have been inspired by their core values: Do-It-Yourself, each one teach one, go against the grain and speak your truth.
This also ties in nicely with Patta's motto: out of love and necessity rather than profit and novelty.
INSPIRING SUBCULTURES
The Dutch streetwear label was inspired by subcultures they identify with, including activist movements such as 2-tone ska, the skinhead movement in 1960s London, and Provo in Amsterdam - Suburban youth culture.
They also name Zinedine Zidane who wore the NO Antisemitismo/Violenza/Razzismo shirt. It remains a great sports culture moment with a very relevant statement.
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
In the recently published lookbook from Patta we can already see some great previews of the collection. What you can expect is knitwear, bold all-over prints, leather clothing, a sports line and graphics and accessories that all radiate the feeling and attitude of this collection. All in the style of brutal design, but expect the unexpected. There will be monthly collaboration projects with activists and (counter) cultural heroes. These collaborative projects will reinforce the themes of Patta's main line.
