The first episode of The Pay Check can be viewed Tuesday night, April 5, 2022 at 8:00 pm. In this show host Pay Komüs talks to various guests about topics such as hip hop, fashion, sneakers and everything around them. The first guest, none other than: Edson Sabajo, co-founder of Patta.
The Pay Check
Tuesday night, April 5, 8:00 p.m., the first episode of The Pay Check will be featured on the Sneakerjagers YouTube channel. In this show, Pay Kolmüs talks to various guests about topics inside and outside the sneaker world. The guests come from all walks of life. For example, Pay invites DJs, sports athletes, fashion designers and artists.
Pay Kolmüs is a jack of all trades. She has been active in the music and entertainment world for about twenty years as a music journalist and artist manager. In her career she has interviewed artists such as Public Enemy, Nas, Ne-Yo and Ice Cube. She has also had her own radio show and is an artist manager.
With her broad knowledge in the music landscape, she has achieved several positions. She is a member of the Supervisory Board at De Melkweg, large hip hop stage in Amsterdam and has hosted editions of Amsterdam Dance Events. She also mentors emerging artists at the Ivy Chanel Music Academy (IMCA) in London and has a great passion for sneakers, mainly the Nike Air Max 1.
Edson Sabajo
The first episode of The Pay Check features none other than Edson Sabajo as its guest. Edson is the co-founder of Patta and founded the streetwear brand in 2004, together with Guillaume 'Gee' Schmidt. The two knew each other before that out of the hip hop scene. The two met at Fat Beats, a record store where Edson was the manager.
In 2004 the two opened their first Patta store in Amsterdam. Patta quickly became a 'cult favorite brand' and to this day it is impossible to imagine the streetwear scene without it. Only recently, in 2021, Nike of course came up with 'The Wave' collab with Patta, which resulted in four Air Max 1s. Videoland also recently released the documentary 'Patta For Life'.
Besides Edson's passion for hip hop and sneakers, he is also a big running fanatic. With Patta, he founded the Patta Running Team which brings runners in and around Amsterdam together. Patta is best described as one big family where everyone with the same passion is welcome, regardless of your background. "Out of love and necessity rather than profit and novelty" - Patta.
First episode
Edson is the first guest on The Pay Check. The show features talk, laughter and discussion in a laid-back atmosphere. Topics such as fashion, sneakers, sports and music are discussed. With the show, host Pay wants to connect different corners of the cultural sector. Creativity is central.
