On the Vans website you can now personalise your sneakers with the prints of your favourite horror movies. For these prints, the skate brand takes its inspiration from the classic films Gremlins and Beetlejuice.
Vans x Horror Collection
This is not the first time Vans takes its inspiration from horror movies. Recently, the brand announced its horror collection via Twitter with a short clip. The clip shows four shoes that give a nod to the films 'It', 'A Nightmare on Elmstreet', 'The Shining' and 'Friday the 13th'. According to Vans, these creepy kicks will be dropped in October 2021.
Besides the horror collection of Vans, it is now also possible to give your own creepy makeover to the sneakers of the skate brand. The custom Vans can be personalised with prints from the movies 'Gremlins' and 'Beetlejuice'.
Custom Vans x Gremlins
The first print that can be used for your Vans sneaker comes from the 1984 movie 'Gremlins'. The story is about a man named Randall Peitzer, also known as 'Rand'. As a Christmas present for his son Billy, Rand buys a small furry creature called 'Mogwai', which is Chinese for 'evil spirit'.
The creature is called "Gizmo" and appears to be very intelligent and polite. All went well until Gizmo got water all over him and the creature multiplied. These variants were a little less polite than Gizmo. Eventually these Gremlins keep multiplying until total chaos breaks out.
Now the Gremlins are leaving their mark on Vans pairs. On the website of the skate brand, there are already a few models ready to be ordered. If you don't like what you see, you can also personalise these models with the prints from the film.
Vans SK8-Hi x Gremlins
The first pair where the Gremlins can be found is the Vans Sk8-Hi. On this pair, two different Gremlins prints can be found on the middle panel and toebox.
Vans Authentic x Gremlins
The Vans Authentic is also covered with furry creatures. These are printed on the entire upper side of the model.
Vans Slip-Ons x Gremlins
Another silhouette that can be personalised are the Vans Slip-Ons. The Gremlin prints and colour scheme of this pair correspond to the Vans Sk8-Hi.
Vans Old Skool x Gremlins
Next we have the classic Vans Old Skool. The middle panel has a black and white checkered print, again with the furry creatures on it.
Vans Era x Gremlins
We also find the Vans Era on the website of the skate brand. The pair carries, just like the Sk8-Hi and the Slip-Ons, two different prints on which the Gremlins can be found.
Custom Vans x Beetlejuice
The second print to customise your pair is inspired by the 1988 Tim Burton film Beetlejuice. In the film, Barbara and Adam Maitland are killed in a car accident. Soon, the couple realises that they did not survive the accident and are trapped as ghosts in the big old house where they lived. Later on a new family, the Deetz family, moves into their home.
The couple seem to disagree with the new residents and try to drive the family away. Eventually Barbara and Adam befriend Lydia Deets, the daughter of the family. Lydia is also the only living person who can see the two ghosts. After receiving a warning from Juno, a helper from the spirit world, Barbara and Adam enlist the help of Beetlegeuse (or 'Beetlejuice'), a ghost who can transform into a monster.
It has also received its own print that can be used for personalisation. For this purpose, a number of models are already available on the Vans website and can be easily ordered.
Vans Slip-Ons x Beetlejuice
The back of the Vans Slip-On is black, with the Beetlejuice logo printed several times in white. On the front you can find different scenes from the movie.
Vans Authethics x Beetlejuice
The Vans Authenthic also gets a Beetlejuice makeover. On the entire upper of the sneaker, various images from the film are printed.
Vans Old SKool x Beetlejuice
Finally, the Beetlejuice print can also be found on the Vans Old Skool. The logo of the film can be found several times on the middle panel. Furthermore, the sneaker wears a black and white colour scheme.
So far the Custom Vans from Beetlejuice and Gremlin. If you don't find anything you like, it is of course also possible to personalise these models. This can be done on the website of Vans.
