Eco Future collection
The sustainable Champion collection was released in September 2021. The 'Eco Future' clothing items are made from recycled materials and have a lower impact on the environment. The brand presented a preview of the new collection on 15 July 2021. It showed the various clothing items with a number of quotes. The quotes 'Return to NATURE' and 'Be Part of CHANGE' were shown in the clip. Champion also told us that the collection consists of 100% organic materials.
The items consist of OECO-TEX and are certified by the international label GOTS. OECO-TEX cotton is more sustainable. For example, the label focuses on limiting harmful substances and the textile is made in a human-friendly way. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a recognised standard for organic textiles.
Sustainability at Champion
It is not the first time that Champion is committed to sustainability. The brand is part of clothing brand Hanesbrands. They are well on their way when it comes to making the production process more sustainable. Hanesbrands is also very active in improving activities in the clothing industry. In 2021, the company will present concrete plans to help them achieve their goals.
A few points from the plan of Hanesbrands: The company wants 'zero waste' in all their operations by 2025. They also expect this from their partners. The brand wants to use 25% less water in the production of clothing items by 2030. Hanesbrands also wants to reduce the use of energy and they are very determined in this.
This message of sustainability is once again well reflected in the 'Eco Future' collection by the associated company Champion. But the collection also brings another message.
Gender-neutral designs Eco Future
The 'Eco Future' collection by Champion has been given gender-neutral designs. The clothing items for both men and women have been given the same colours. The timeless designs come in the colours black, off-white, pink and navy blue. Furthermore, the items are made of GOTS-certified organic cotton.
The collection consists of hoodies, sweatpants and t-shirts. All four colours are represented in the collection for both men and women. The Champion logo can be seen on the garments. This is stitched in recycled polyester. The label and price tags on the items are also made from recycled material.

Another cool detail on the items is the hidden QR code. The jerseys and shirts, for example, have a QR code printed in the neck and the trousers have one on the side. When this code is scanned, you are directed to the goals of the parent company Hanesbrands.
