30 years after the OG release of the Nike Air Max BW, the silhouette returns in 2021 to celebrate the anniversary! What makes the comeback even better is that the Nike Air Max BW re-released in its OG 'Persian Violet' colorway. Initially, the sneaker was supposed to drop July 22, 2021, but a new release date is now circulating.
As we mentioned, the Air Max BW debuted thirty years ago in 1991. The silhouette was designed by who else than Tinker Hatfield. The sneaker featured a translucent Air Max sole, just like the Air Max 90 that appeared a year earlier. However, the Air Max BW's Air Unit was a lot bigger than that of the Air Max 90, which gave the trainer the nickname 'Big Window'.
There have been rumours of the Air Max BW making a comeback for quite some time now. In November 2020, the first rumours surfaced. Then the sneaker got a release date in May, but now it seems it will be released later than expected. The release date of the Nike Air Max BW 'Persian Violet' is now scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2021, so save the date!

In terms of appearance, the sneaker is virtually unchanged from the OG version. The silhouette features a base that is made of mesh in a black colour. Besides that, the shoe has a double mudguard in the contrasting colours black and white. Besides the black and white colours, the sneaker also has some 'Persion Violet' shades. The Swoosh is processed in the purple colour, but also the area around the ankle, the midsole and the tongue. The midsole is not completely purple, but also has a white colour. This way, the use of colour remains well balanced.
As we said, the Nike Air Max BW Classic Persian drops on Saturday 11 September 2021. The sneaker will have a price tag of €140. Until then, keep a close eye on our Sneakerjagers Release Calender so you won't miss a single release or update. Scroll down for photos of the OG colorway.
