[Update July 7th, 2021] At this year's Paris Fashion Week we got exciting new information about future collaborations. Besides the Nike x Louis Vuitton collaboration, the Travis Scott x Dior partnership was also announced. This is expected to result in some high-end fashion outfits and also some sneakers. Here we take a closer look at the Cactus Jack x Christian Dior Men collection.
Travis Scott x Dior
With this collaboration, one wonders who has hooked up with whom. Above all, Dior's fashion designer Kim Jones will be happy about the upcoming high fashion designs. Travis Scott, probably the most famous rapper of the United Sates, has become successful mainly through his music. He also has a record and clothing label on the side. He already posed for the Nike x Air Jordan collabo in July 2020.
Dior x Travis Scott also attracted attention with an exciting collaboration with George Condo. As part of the collection, hand-painted shirts are created and the proceeds go to the foundation established by Travis Scott, which awards scholarships to young creative artists at New York's Parsons School of Design.
Dior director Kim Jones has worked with artists such as Peter Doig and Shawn Stussy in the past. Travis Scott, however, is being given a very big honour here, as the Dior press release states: "This unprecedented collaboration represents the first complete Dior collection ever created for the house [Dior] with a musician."
What can we expect from Travis Scott x Dior?
The first leak of the Spring 2022 collection comes from Travis himself. In one picture he is wearing a jacket that will be part of the collaboration. Check it out below.
The Dior Men Show and the collabo will also include the reinterpreted Toile-de-Jouy pattern. The famous Pop Smoke x Dior T-shirt is also a must.
Here you can see some better pictures of the upcoming Spring collection. The waistcoat on the top left is particularly striking. Take a look for yourself and see if you like any of it. There is also a lot of jewellery waiting for us. Below you can see some pictures of the jewellery collection.
What can we expect in terms of sneakers?
There's also a lot waiting for us in terms of kicks. Here, the two fashion heavyweights work with a sneaker model in various colorways. The rather chunky-looking laces are striking. You can also see the Dior logo on the back of the heel of the kicks.
Unfortunately, we don't yet know how much the shoes will cost in retail. The collection, including the shoes, will be launched in spring 2022. You can get a first impression here below.
