Nike WMNS Air Max 90 'Legacy' | DJ4878-400

Planned for a College Navy, Light Bone, Sail and Chile Red colorway, the upper is made from scraps of material and 'space junk' overlays that mimic a patchwork design. This features shades of mint, navy, black, grey, pink, wheat and red.

To commemorate the 'Move to Zero' movement, the velcro labels on the heel feature the Nike logo in the shape of a pinwheel, the trademark of Nike's eco-friendly products. A white rubber midsole, green Air unit and grippy rubber outsole complete the design.

Nike Dunk Low 'Scrap'

With the unveiling of this Air Max 90, it is confirmed that the Dunk Low 'Scrap' is by no means alone. The Dunk Low 'Scrap' is likely to launch alongside other silhouettes and takes on the same messy patchwork elements with the addition of Velcro patches.

Compared to the Dunk Low, the Air Max 90 is much more diverse in terms of colour and also with the materials used. The toe alone, for example, dresses itself in six different materials, all thrown together abruptly yet with pleasing randomness. This patchwork design runs throughout the shoe, where bright reds, tanned leather and thick stitching come together. In addition, the branding on the tongue and heel are unique and - as mentioned earlier - removable. For a closer look at the AM 90 debut, check out the images now:

As we now know, the kicks are called 'Legacy' and not 'Scrap' as first assumed. The scene assumed the latter, as it would have referred to the materials and colours thrown together.

Nike and sustainability

The Swoosh Brand, just like any other brand, is now trying to make processes and products greener and thus reduce its ecological footprint to a possible minimum. The 'Move to Zero' initiative describes in detail what Nike is already doing or has planned in terms of climate protection.

The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions and waste production. This can be achieved through a careful selection of materials, which account for 70% of the CO2 balance. For the brands as well as for us, the Three R's rule applies: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Release Info

The sustainable kicks will be available from Nike and other retailers on Thursday, 10 June 2021, from 09:00. You can plan on paying around €140 for this release and can also register directly at Raffles via the button.
