I don't know about you, but I have the feeling that PUMA is often underestimated or that some people don't have the brand on their radar at first. That's why you're reading Sneakerjagers, dear community. Because with us you won't miss any trends or underrated models that will make you the trendsetter of tomorrow.
We all know the PUMA Suede and we often see the PUMA Basket on the street. But what else does the brand have up its sleeve? Let's take a look now!
The RS Model
Like any brand, PUMA looks back to its sporting roots when developing new collections. Consequently, also in 2018, when the designers dug up the RS technology from the archives.
The original RS (=Running System) is an innovative and high-end cushioning technology developed in 1986 and first launched with the RS-100. The release was intended to satisfy the demand for high-tech stability running shoes and the RS-350, released the following year, also found favour in the burgeoning runner scene with its 80s vibes and classic streamlined design.
While the RS models from the 1980s were clearly designed for running, the silhouettes are now conquering streetwear. The recipe for success is probably the combination of past and future in a retro-futuristic design, because characteristic RS elements, such as the chunky silhouette, have been retained in all RS models.
These include the RS-O Play, the PUMA x Sega RS-0 'Sonic' and the RS-350 Re-Invention in the 'Archive Green' colorway.
PUMA RS Heat
Of course, the RS-X is also one of them. While the X stands for extreme, the shoe brings a new level of performance. The design for the X³ was completely revised in 2020. After stripping the shoe down to its basics, PUMA equipped it with new, strong materials and bold colours to create entirely new textures.
Recently, the RS-Fast was added to the range. It features eye-catching branding and highly visible graphics.
The PUMA RS-0 is unfortunately almost completely sold out in many colorways, but you can still shop this chic model.
Further eye-catchers of the RS series
The brand is the official supplier of the Bavarian car manufacturer BMW M Motorsport. In the collection you will find racing shoes and teamwear as well as lifestyle and fan pieces.
Here, too, we particularly like the RS models, which impress with the typical colours of the M package. For the chunky silhouette of the RS-Fast, the brand updated the midsole inserts and equipped the shoe with TPU elements at the heel. The upper is still made of a combination of mesh and leather.
What do you think of these innovative, colourful kicks? In any case, I've added another model to my sneaker bucket list 😝 If you're still interested in the classics from the brand from Herzogenaurach, we'll simply link you to all the models, because these silhouettes are also convincing in new colours!
So now all that's left is a subtle hint to our sneaker news, which keeps you up to date on great models and presents the hottest releases. In addition, you can always shine with sneaker knowledge.
