30 years ago, adidas came up with a special sneaker design that never made it to the streets. Now, all these years later after its planned launch, the adidas ZX 0000 Evolution is celebrating its debut, albeit in a slightly different form.
From the archives to the present
That's what adidas says about their new design, and that's exactly what it says here. The ZX 0000 was designed as a prototype 30 years ago, but it never had its own name, nor was it ever released. Now the guys and gals at adidas have rummaged through the archives in Herzogenaurach for their A-ZX series and are bringing the special design back with a few changes!
For the brand with the three stripes, the kicks symbolise the evolution of the ZX and combine the famous ZX design with the brand's EQT running shoes. The team has now taken the original prototype, rebuilt it and tweaked it a bit, resulting in the new ZX 0000 Evolution.
So the never-before-seen ZX 0000 is now getting the stage it deserves and will be launched as part of the A-ZX series (26 unique drops for each letter in the alphabet) - 'E' for Evolution.

Accordingly, the design of the new kicks also contains some elements that are characteristic of the ZX models of this time. These include the Torsion Bar in the sole, which traditionally stands for better movement between the back and forefoot. But the TPU reinforcements on the heel and the overlays on the toe are also characteristic.
Visually, a white mesh base is combined with cream suede overlays. Blue accents add highlights and there are also some pink elements. The adidas branding and Torsion lettering are also present.
If you want this historic ZX to be in your collection, then you have the chance to grab the kicks on Wednesday, 5 May 2021 at 9AM.
