Nike and its skateboard division seem to be expanding their collaborations once again. After collaborating with Supreme and Carpet Company, the Nike SB Dunk Low now goes into a project with Stingwater, the skate brand of Daniel Kim. With this collaboration Nike adds another impressive sneaker to its growing collection. Read on for all the information on the Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low collab.
With this project, Stingwater is making a unique mark on the Nike SB Dunk Low. The brand is engaged in one of the most unique Nike SB Dunk Low collaborations so far this year. Insiders reveal that the collaboration is a solid 50/50 balance between the two brands. While the Dunk Low carries its signature look, shape and features, the more subtle details are carried through in a Stingwater design.
Stingwater's clothing and accessories are often designed with playful graphics and patterns. That design style is certainly brought out here as Kim's brand gives the iconic Nike SB Dunk Low a bold look.
The first images show the low-top dressed in red, with contrasting white speckles and laces. In addition to the colour, the thick and translucent tongue, which appears to be icy blue, is also very striking. This also provides a nice contrast to the deep red upper. The translucent Swoosh has been miniaturised to better fit the falling letters of the Stingwater logo.
An extra detail are the green insoles, which carry the logo of both brands and the text "Please don't step on me, I'm trying to GROE.". The upper of the sneaker has unique elements. It has a corduroy sock lining and a translucent tongue. The usual Nike SB tag is exchanged for a cardboard brown tag with the text "stingwater SHOE VERY SPESHAL". In addition, the bottom of the right midsole reads "Plant Emoji" and the left side reads "With Eyes".
