Air Jordan 5 history

As you can see from the name of the Air Jordan, it was the fifth silhouette of the Jordan Brand. Around 1990 Tinker Hatfield came up with a new exciting idea for this Jordan, which celebrated its first release in 1990. Tinker was inspired by several fighter planes from the Second World War. The sneaker got its iconic mesh on the side of the Jordan, as well as the lace-lock on the top of the laces. Of course, you can't forget the reflective 3M tongue and the flame design used on the midsole! Did you know that the Air Jordan 5 was the first Jordan with a transparent outsole?

The new Jordan is very similar to the OG model of the Air Jordan 5 in many ways, in fact you get almost exactly the same shoe, except that the color of the uppers has been dyed off-white instead of pearl white.
