The popular collaboration between Nike x Stüssy goes into another round. The two giants in lifestyle fashion continue their successful collaboration with a very limited edition. On 29 January 2021, the Stüssy x Nike Hand Dyed Air Force 1 will be released in five different colours. The special thing is that each pair is lovingly created from dyes from plants and unique colours. Let's take a look at some of the details together. Let's go!
The natural dyes are based on a plant that is ethically harvested. Originally, the plant is also used medicinally and is considered a skin soothig medicanal porperties. Stüssy shared: 'Each pair of Stüssy & Nike Air Force 1 is lovingly hand-dyed in Los Angeles, California, by Lookout & Wonderland and based in plant dye, medicine and fibre in their art practice'. Lookout & Wonderland is also known for their art projects. Therefore, only a very small number of these will be available and the shoes will be released exclusively on the Stüssy website.
Most important, there will be five colour options, each chosen to represent a city. The colours are meant to represent the label's five 'World Tour' cities. There will be a blue, a yellow, a grey, a green and a yellow/red colourway. The natural dyes are prepared in tannins and then the Air Force 1s are hand-dyed. The base, which is the artistic handwork, makes the shoe and the dyes totally unique. There is a short video where you can watch the steps of the production.
Unfortunately very limited
If you still want to challenge your luck, you can try it at the Stüssy website on 29 January at 10am PST, which is 7pm our time. The Stüssy x Nike Hand Dyed Air Force 1 in the five different colours represents the cities: Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Tokyo and London!
It was also announced that next to the shoes, a Stüssy & Nike Collection is waiting for you. A Nike Collection will be released in selected stores and online at Stüssy on 29 January. So far we know of a jacket and pants made from 75% recycled nylon and insulated by Thermore® EcoDown®. Thermore® EcoDown® is a down alternative made from 100% recycled polyester.
Lastly, I wanted to point out the other day Nike and Stüssy created a lot of hype with their Air Force 1 models. The 'Fossil Stone' and 'Black' versions of the Air Force 1 were very popular and sold out immediately. If you want to know more about the latest collaboration, just follow this link.
