Foot Locker has announced a new programme in Europe together with Creative Debuts. The programme will offer grants to young creators in Europe. The Young Creators Grant gives a total of €15,000 to fund new work for artists and designers.
The grant is made possible through a collaboration between Foot Locker and Creative Debuts, which has launched previous grant programmes. Young Creators Grant
Creative Debuts and Foot Locker have launched the Young Creators Grant to help creative young adults. By means of a grant, they want to help young starters to give their creative careers and businesses a good start. The grants are without obligation; the recipients can spend the money as they see fit. However, a number of conditions apply to have a chance of winning a grant. In addition, there are only a limited number of places available.
Who is it for and what are the conditions?
Any young creative creator who creates something with his or her work around sneakers or youth culture can apply for a grant. Creativity is seen in its broadest form: whether you paint sneakers, work on upcycling sneakers or perform a dance performance in your favourite pair, it is all enough for the Young Creators Grant.
However, there is a limit to the number of scholarships. There will be 30 scholarships available, with each recipient having €500 to spend. Furthermore, the initiative is obviously intended for young people, which is why you have to be between 16 and 29 years old when you apply. You also need to apply in time, this can be done until 28 August 2021.
Creative Debuts
If you are interested, you can apply via the website of Creative Debuts. The art platform is committed to supporting emerging artists. They do this by promoting their work through an Artwork Subscription Service. They also have other projects and organise events and other Grants. There is also a Black Artists Grant, where they also offer non-binding financial support to selected artists.
This grant was started to support Black artists in the UK in the art world. Creative Debuts hopes through this small contribution to increase opportunities for Black artists throughout the art scene.
